ATLANTA SUMMER STRINGFEST

Welcome to
Stringfest!

Each summer, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra musician and music educator Lachlan McBane teaches and conducts the Stringfest Intermediate String Orchestra, preparing for a dynamic end-of-camp performance.

Stringfest’s Intermediate Orchestra is appropriate for students in their first few years of playing violin, viola, cello, or bass.

Meet the director

LACHLAN McBANE

An Atlanta Symphony Orchestra musician,
he was also a music education major.
Lachlan knows strings, orchestra, and kids equally well (he & his wife have 4 of their own).

Stringfest meets at Redeemer Presbyterian, about a mile outside the Perimeter on Chamblee-Tucker Rd. Redeemer is conveniently located near I-85 and I-285, easily accessible from most areas of metro Atlanta.

Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday:
Orchestra rehearsals (with a snack break)
Thursday:
Dress Rehearsal and Finale Concert (12:00 noon)

Atlanta Summer Stringfest string orchestra camp welcomes young string players of any race, nationality, or religious persuasion. Public or private school students and homeschoolers are all welcome.

Camp tuition is $120.

Generally, Stringfest is for children age 9 and up.
Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case
basis at the director's discretion.

You must be able to read music to participate, and you must bring your own instrument (or a rental).
Stringfest does not provide instruments.
